Ajloun, May 1 (Petra) - In the heart of Ajloun, the "Darb Jududna" (Path of Our Ancestors) trail has emerged as a premier model for heritage tourism, breathing new life into the historic routes once traversed by previous generations. The trail seamlessly weaves together Ajloun’s historical legacy with its rugged natural beauty, reinforcing the region's cultural identity while fostering sustainable tourism.

Engineer Moawiya Annab, Chairman of the Ajloun Provincial Council Committee, stated that the trail represents a qualitative addition to the governorate’s tourism portfolio. He noted that by linking heritage sites with Ajloun’s unique environmental features, the path stimulates local tourism and creates economic opportunities for neighboring communities. Annab affirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting initiatives that capitalize on the province's natural and historical assets.

Spanning approximately 25 kilometers, the trail offers flexible segments tailored to varying fitness levels, according to tour guide Issa Al-Shara. He explained that "Darb Jududna" was developed through community-led initiatives and now stands alongside the governorate’s officially recognized tourism routes.

The path holds deep historical significance, as it originally served as a vital commercial artery connecting Ajloun to the city of Nablus. This legacy of trade and travel provides a distinctive cultural layer that sets it apart from standard hiking trails. Al-Shara emphasized that reviving the route allows visitors to engage directly with local history and communities while exploring Ajloun’s diverse landscapes.
