Amman, Jan. 4 (Petra) -- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, officially launched a comprehensive update to the "Sanad" application on Sunday, introducing features designed to streamline government transactions and digital identity management.

According to Petra, Smeirat announced during a press conference that the update follows the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to modernize the platform. The new version prioritizes speed and user experience, featuring a redesigned interface for clearer navigation and faster login protocols.

Key Innovations in the Update: - Automatic Digital ID Activation: Users can now activate their digital identities directly through the app using secure, simplified steps. This eliminates the previous requirement to visit physical "Sanad stations" in person.

- Integrated End-to-End Services: The update introduces a unified service model. Citizens can now complete entire government transactions from initial application to final payment within the app. This removes the need for external payment reference numbers or switching between different platforms.

- Modern Payment Solutions: In addition to direct transfers and credit cards, the app now supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, offering greater flexibility and aligning with global digital payment standards.

- Authentic Digital Documents: Digital versions of official documents, such as national IDs, driver’s licenses, and vehicle registrations, now mirror the design of physical documents to enhance reliability and recognition by various authorities.

Growth in Digital Adoption The Minister highlighted the rapid adoption of these new features, noting that 2,091 electronic payment transactions were completed via the app within just five days of the update's release.

Current statistics reflect a high level of engagement with the platform: - Monthly Users: Approximately 1.3 million.

- Activated Digital IDs: Over 2 million.

- Monthly Digital Transactions: Nearly 6 million (including inquiries and procedural services).

Smeirat emphasized that "Sanad" serves as Jordan’s unified national platform for digital government services, embodying the Ministry’s strategy to support the digital economy and foster innovation. He encouraged all citizens to update the application or download it to benefit from the integrated ecosystem, which is designed to save time and reduce the need for physical visits to government offices.
