Amman, April 8 (Petra) -- Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Minister Sami Smeirat on Wednesday inaugurated the Amman office of multinational strategic consulting and technology company Nortal, in the presence of Estonia's non-resident ambassador to Jordan, Ingrid Amer.
According to a ministry statement, Smeirat said attracting Nortal reflects international companies' confidence in Jordan's digital investment climate and the progress the Kingdom has made in building an integrated digital ecosystem backed by advanced infrastructure and qualified talent.
He said the new office will add value to the technology sector by creating specialized jobs, facilitating knowledge transfer, strengthening national capacities, and supporting the development of advanced digital solutions for local and regional markets.
Smeirat said Jordan is continuing to implement digital transformation programs through the expansion of government e-services and the adoption of modern technologies, with the aim of improving public-sector efficiency and service quality.
He said the presence of global companies in the Kingdom boosts the innovation ecosystem and helps accelerate the growth of the digital economy, adding that Jordan continues to consolidate its position as a regional hub for technology investment.
For his part, Nortal Regional Director Artur Assor said the opening of the Jordan office reflects the company's strong confidence in the Kingdom's advanced digital infrastructure, favorable business environment, and highly skilled technology professionals.
The Amman office, he added, will serve as a strategic hub for delivering government digital transformation solutions and strategic transformation services to clients across the region and beyond.
