Amman, March 9 (Petra) -- The Jordan Company for Developing Cities and Facilities (JCDCF) held a dialogue session on Monday on the Amra City project, bringing together a group of experts and specialists to discuss water, energy, and the environment issues.

In the energy session on Amra City, a huge real estate and economic investment project within the borders of the capital Amman, participants examined sources and uses, their relationship to architectural building design, and the impact of technological advances on energy production and consumption methods.

In the water session, the discussion tackled opportunities for water reuse, the potential of water harvesting and rainwater collection, and the role of modern technologies in rationalizing consumption and reducing losses.

The environment discussion addressed the city’s environmental standards, ways to curb carbon emissions, preserve biodiversity, and investment opportunities in recycling technologies.

Participants stressed the importance of integrating the water, energy, and environment sectors in the planning of new cities, noting that such approach is essential to improving the efficiency of natural resource use and achieving long-term sustainability.

The sessions form part of an ongoing series of dialogue workshops and reflect the company’s commitment to engaging experts and specialists at every stage of the project in order to draw on their expertise and develop best-practice models for sustainable urban development while opening up promising investment opportunities.

In January, the Cabinet hosted specialized dialogue sessions involving 150 experts to discuss the development of the Amra City project. The sessions covered urban development and planning, economic impact and future technology, water, energy and environment, culture and education, sports and health, and mobility.
