Amman, April 14 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs Nawaf Ajarmeh discussed partnerships with national sports federations under the umbrella of the Jordanian Olympic Committee to advance school sports and enhance students' physical, technical and health performance.

According to a ministry statement issued Tuesday, Ajarmeh met with a delegation of the Jordanian Baseball and Softball Federation, headed by Suhail Muqabala, and including spokesperson Alaa Majali and Secretary Amjad Atoum.

He discussed the federation's efforts over the past two years in promoting the sport and expanding its presence at both national and international levels.

The meeting discussed avenues for cooperation in training and qualifying physical education teachers in coaching, refereeing and sports administration across various education directorates.

The initiative aims to equip teachers with the skills needed to introduce baseball to students, starting with the formation of school-level teams and progressing toward a national school team capable of representing Jordan in regional and international competitions.

The federation's delegation presented key aspects of baseball as a modern adaptation of the classic game. They emphasised its suitability for schools due to its simplicity, low cost and minimal space requirements needing only a rubber ball and an area not exceeding 21 square meters.

They noted that the sport is accessible to students of all ages and both genders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the federation delegation expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Education's efforts to support educational and athletic development.
