Amman, July 19 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources launched Sunday the second phase of the National Capacity Building Program in Energy Efficiency, featuring specialized training for technical staff from ministries and government institutions.

The training program, held at the German Energy Academy in Jordan at the German Jordanian University, is part of a series of initiatives aimed at developing a specialized national workforce capable of managing energy resources efficiently within the public sector.

The training program will run from July 19-23 as a continuation of its first phase, with the participation of engineers and technicians from various ministries and government institutions.

Director of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Directorate at the ministry Lina Mubaideen said the program reflects joint efforts by the ministry and the German-Jordanian Energy Academy to build national expertise in energy management.

She said participants will apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their workplaces, contributing to improving energy efficiency in government buildings and supporting the sustainability of energy conservation projects.

Mubaideen added that the program targets employees working in energy management, as well as the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to enable participants to assess energy consumption and identify opportunities for improving efficiency.

Director of the German Energy Academy in Jordan Mohammad Juaidi said the program reflects the partnership between the ministry and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
