Amman, Aug. 22 (Petra) -- The European Union condemned settler attacks in the West Bank and expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, where Palestinian families have remained trapped inside their homes for nearly two weeks due to settler attacks.

In a statement issued Saturday and published by the European External Action Service in Brussels, the EU said the situation in Qusra reflects an escalation in violence by extremist settlers, including intimidation, harassment, property vandalism, and physical assaults, aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their homes.

The EU also rejected recent remarks by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir regarding the Gaza Strip, saying inflammatory and offensive rhetoric does not contribute to easing tensions.
