EuroCham Jordan, Switzerland discuss strengthening economic, investment cooperation

Amman, August 1 (Petra) – European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham Jordan) met with Hannah Fasnacht, Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Swiss Embassy, to discuss ways to enhance trade and economic relations between Jordan and Switzerland and expand cooperation in the business and investment sectors.

This meeting, which was held at the chamber's headquarters , was chaired by Dr. Anwar Obeidat, a member of the EuroCham Jordan Board of Directors and several other board members.

According to an EuroCham statement issued on Saturday, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on key economic issues of mutual interest and review available opportunities to strengthen trade and investment relations between the two countries, which would serve shared economic interests and supporting the growth of trade exchange.

Both sides called for continuing efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and Switzerland and developing partnerships between private sector institutions, which would contribute to encouraging investments and opening new horizons for cooperation in various economic sectors.

The meeting also featured a "constructive" dialogue between the Chargé d'Affaires and the chamber's members, addressing the key opportunities and challenges facing the business community.

The two sides noted importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the public and private sectors to support "sustainable" economic growth and strengthen bilateral economic relations.

Additionally, both sides affirmed significance of the European Economic Conference being held in Jordan as a "strategic" platform for enhancing dialogue between the Jordanian and European business communities.

The conference will showcase the Kingdom's available investment opportunities and foster new partnerships between Jordanian and European companies.

This event will contribute to attracting more European investments, boosting trade, and solidifying Jordan's position as a regional hub for business and investment.

Meanwhile, chamber members affirmed its commitment to continuing its role in strengthening economic relations between Jordan and European countries, which is achieved through representing the business community, providing a platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors, and encouraging trade and investment partnerships.

These efforts aim to attract investments, expand trade, and enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.

The members noted that the chamber works to support European companies operating in the Kingdom and assist Jordanian companies seeking to expand their operations in European markets.

Furthermore, the chamber contributes to developing the business environment and strengthening communication with decision-makers to serve shared economic interests.

Launched in the second half of 2025, the chamber culminates three decades of work within the Jordanian-European Business Association (JEBA).

As an independent organization representing the interests of European and European-oriented Jordanian companies in the Kingdom, the chamber works to promote trade and investment between Jordan and European countries within the framework of the Jordanian-European Partnership Agreement.
