Amman, Oct. 26 (Petra) - European gas prices peaked to USD108.60 per megawatt-hour on Monday for the first time since early 2022, driven by ongoing market fluctuations.
Benchmark Dutch front-month futures, Europe's gas pricing standard, rose 3.2 percent to 96.88 euros per megawatt-hour in Amsterdam, building on last week's rally with an additional 3.5 percent jump on Monday, according to Bloomberg.
The surge in natural gas costs directly impacted power markets, pushing front-month French electricity futures above 200 euros per megawatt-hour for the first time since January 2023.
