Amman, Jan. 20 (Petra) -- Seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton on Tuesday visited the Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) headquarters in Amman to observe humanitarian relief efforts for the Gaza Strip, conducted in cooperation with the British Red Cross.
The visit featured a tour of the JRC Hospital and the Madaba Logistics Center, which serves as a primary hub for collecting and dispatching aid to Gaza.
In statements shared on his official Facebook page, Hamilton said his visit highlighted the "immense" human suffering faced by civilians, while also showcasing the resilience of families and the dedication of medical and humanitarian personnel.
He noted the situation on the ground reflects the struggle for survival under extreme conditions, praising the life-saving work of doctors and the tireless efforts of the British Red Cross, the Jordan Red Crescent, and the Palestinian Red Crescent in delivering aid.
Hamilton added that current aid levels reaching the Gaza Strip remain insufficient to meet growing needs, calling for guaranteed safe and rapid access for humanitarian organizations to affected areas.
The champion urged the international community to intensify humanitarian support, adding that international solidarity and continued advocacy for human rights and the right to life are essential to ending the crisis.
In turn, JRC President Mohammed Hadid said the visit underscores the JRC’s international reputation in relief work and demonstrates growing confidence in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's capacity to provide vital assistance to Gaza.
