Amman, April 8 (Petra) -- First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Khamis Atiyeh on Wednesday met with outgoing Algerian Ambassador to Jordan Abdelkrim Beha on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure.

Atiyeh described Jordanian-Algerian relations as "strong and fraternal," attributing their depth to continuous coordination and communication between the leaderships of both countries. He noted that Jordan and Algeria share a strategic partnership and maintain close collaboration on regional and Arab issues.

He emphasized that both countries continue joint efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and in opposing attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, citing the recent closure of the al-Aqsa Mosque. Atiyeh underlined that Royal directives have consistently prioritized cooperation with Algeria, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to Arab and Islamic causes.

He also called for the expansion of economic cooperation across multiple sectors to benefit both nations and their peoples.

Beha expressed Algeria’s appreciation for Jordan’s positions on Arab and Islamic issues under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation to facilitate trade and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
