Manama, January 11 (Petra) – King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi, who conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

Safadi conveyed the Jordanian leadership's wishes for Bahrain and its people for continued progress and prosperity, as well as Jordan's keenness to further strengthen cooperation across various fields.

King Hamad expressed pride in the close historical relations and strong ties between Jordan and Bahrain, noting that these relations continue to grow and develop through the mutual commitment of both countries to strengthening and expanding cooperation.

King Hamad, who conveyed his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II and wished Jordan continued progress and prosperity, stressed the importance of sustained communication between the two countries in enhancing cooperation, consultation and coordination on various issues, particularly in light of regional developments.

He commended the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in strengthening bilateral relations, supporting joint Arab action and contributing to efforts aimed at achieving peace, security and stability in the region.

Safadi, in turn, affirmed Jordan's deep appreciation for King Hamad's role in strengthening the historical relations between the two kingdoms, as well as Bahrain's positions and continued efforts in support of Arab causes.

Safadi stressed Jordan's pride in the deeply rooted Jordanian-Bahraini relations and their continued development, reflected in expanding cooperation across political, economic and developmental fields.

Following the meeting, Safadi held extensive talks with Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, focusing on ways to enhance relations and elevate cooperation to broader levels across various sectors.

The top diplomats affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and consultation in international forums, particularly during Bahrain's non-permanent membership on the United Nations Security Council.

Safadi congratulated Al Zayani on Bahrain assuming its seat on the Security Council and underscored the importance of Bahrain's role in serving Arab causes, strengthening joint Arab action and contributing to efforts to enhance regional security and stability.

The talks addressed regional and international developments, as well as efforts aimed at achieving security, stability and a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

The two ministers stressed the importance of consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza and moving to the second phase of the agreement, in accordance with US President Donald Trump's plan.

They also emphasised the urgent need to ensure the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

They further highlighted the necessity of intensified regional and international efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, in line with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Safadi and Al Zayani affirmed their support for the Syrian government's reconstruction efforts and for safeguarding Syria's security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens.

They reaffirmed their support for Lebanon's security and stability and emphasised the importance of efforts to resolve the crises in Yemen and Sudan in a manner that ensures security and stability and fulfills the aspirations of the two peoples.

The two ministers called for continued coordination and consultation to expand bilateral cooperation and address regional and international challenges.

In addition, Safadi attended the diplomatic forum organised by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Diplomatic Day, during which he participated in a dialogue session on bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

Safadi thanked his Bahraini counterpart for the invitation to attend the forum and reaffirmed the strength of the historical ties between the two kingdoms.

During the dialogue session, he emphasised that Jordan and Bahrain will continue to build on their effective partnerships to create new opportunities that expand cooperation and joint coordination across various fields.

Safadi stressed the importance of Bahrain's membership on the Security Council during the current sensitive circumstances, noting that Bahrain will represent the Arab world at the Council with the wisdom, moderation and balance that characterise its foreign policy.
