Amman, August 12 (Petra) -Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call on Wednesday from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, the two sides discussed ways to expand Jordan–ICRC cooperation and reviewed preparations for a high-level conference on humanity in war, scheduled in Jordan later this year.

The upcoming conference is part of a global initiative launched in 2024 by Jordan, Brazil, South Africa, China, France, and Kazakhstan, in partnership with the ICRC, to bolster political commitment to international humanitarian law.
