Riyadh, April 6 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held talks on Monday during which they reaffirmed Jordan's and Saudi Arabia's absolute solidarity in confronting Iranian aggression against the two countries and other Arab states.

The ministers reiterated condemnation of the attacks as a violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness, and an unjustified assault on the sovereignty of states.

They affirmed their solidarity in all measures taken by their respective countries and other brotherly Arab states to counter the attacks based on the right of self-defense stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

Safadi and Prince Faisal discussed prospects for ending the dangerous escalation in the region, based on principles that guarantee security and stability, respect for the sovereignty of states and the principles of good neighborliness, and ensure that Iranian aggression is not repeated.

During the talks at the Foreign Ministry in Riyadh, the ministers emphasized their countries' commitment to continuing to develop bilateral cooperation across various fields, strengthening the deep-rooted strategic relations between the two kingdoms, and implementing the directives of the leadership of both countries.

They also discussed the situation in the West Bank and Gaza, stressing the need to stabilize Gaza and remove all impediments to the entry of humanitarian aid.

The ministers stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to halt illegal Israeli actions that are fueling further escalation and undermining the two-state solution and efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, particularly the construction and expansion of settlements, annexation of land, attacks on freedom of worship, and violations of the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Safadi and Prince Faisal also called for ending the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, adhering to the ceasefire agreement of November 27, 2014, and supporting the Lebanese government's efforts to assert its sovereignty over all its territory, activate its institutions, and ensure that weapons are solely in the hands of the state.

They also expressed their support for the Syrian government in reconstruction efforts, based on principles that guarantee Syria's security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the rights of all its citizens. They reiterated their condemnation of Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and its continued occupation of Syrian land.

The ministers stressed the importance of the Jordanian-Syrian-US roadmap, which was announced on September 16, 2025, to resolve the crisis in Suwaida and stabilize southern Syria.

They agreed to continue coordination in efforts to restore security and stability in the region.
