Amman, July 26 (Petra) -- Four people were killed and two others injured after a vehicle overturned on the Desert Highway in the Al-Jurf area of Ma'an Governorate, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Sunday.

The PSD's spokesperson said rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defence Directorate assigned to the Desert Highway, together with police personnel, responded to the accident.

The crash claimed the lives of four people and left two others, all Arab nationals, with various fractures, bruises and other injuries, the spokesperson said.

Ambulance crews provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to Ma'an Government Hospital, while the bodies of the victims were also evacuated to the hospital.

The two injured remain under medical treatment, and a traffic investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
