Gaza, Jan. 4 (Petra) -- Gaza’s Ministry of Health said the strip's hospitals received three fatalities and 13 injuries over the past 24 hours.

In its daily statistical report on victims of the Israeli aggression, the ministry said a number of casualties remain trapped under rubble and scattered in streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews still fail to evacuate them.

Since the ceasefire in October, the ministry announced Gaza death toll has reached 420 killed and 1,184 wounded. The cumulative toll since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,386 killed and 171,264 injured.

Separately, Gaza Municipality announced a temporary suspension of road-opening and debris-removal operations across the city due to the lack of fuel required to operate heavy machinery.

In a statement, the municipality said its technical and engineering teams had been working with limited resources to reopen damaged streets and clear debris, but continuation of these efforts is now contingent on the availability of fuel amid a severe shortage.

The municipality called on international organizations and relevant stakeholders to urgently intervene and support municipal needs to ensure the continuity of essential services, particularly given the city’s deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
