Amman, June 22 (Petra) -- Local leaders and community figures from Khan Younis and Southern Gaza Strip, and members of the Khan Younis Families Forum, called on the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/10 on Monday in recognition of its humanitarian and medical services to Palestinians in the enclave.
The visit is to express appreciation for a medical supply convoy that arrived in Gaza last week to replenish the hospital's operations.
Welcoming the group, the hospital's commander said medical services provided by the facility are in implementation of Royal directives, stemming from Jordan's humanitarian commitment toward Palestinians in Gaza. He pledged that staff will continue delivering healthcare services to the people of Gaza.
The local figures commended Royal humanitarian initiatives, particularly providing treatment for 2,000 children from Gaza in Jordan, the "Restoring Hope" initiative for amputees and recently supplying the field hospital with 1,000 prosthetic limbs.
The initiatives, they said, reflect Jordan's longstanding support for the Palestinian people to ease the suffering of the injured and restore hope to thousands of families across the Gaza Strip.
