Amman, August 22 (Petra) – General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) held a training program, entitled: "Essential Skills and Traits of Labor Committees' Members " for the Saudi National Committee of Workers Committees (SNC).
The program aims to develop the beneficiaries' skills and enhance their capabilities in the areas of leadership, teamwork, negotiation, and dialogue.
According to a GFJTU statement, the three-day program, which began on Saturday, features several ad hoc training activities, which cover building labor strategies, effective communication and dialogue skills, teamwork management, creative thinking in presenting labor demands, and effective negotiation and agreement-making skills.
GFJTU President, Khaled Fanatseh, stated this program reflects the "strong" trade union relations between the two brotherly countries.
He added that the step comes within the framework of cooperation and exchange of expertise between the GFJTU and the Saudi SNC and reflects the mutual commitment to developing labor capabilities and promoting practices related to dialogue, negotiation, and teamwork.
He added: "A successful union member today needs a unique blend of effective communication skills, constructive negotiation abilities, crisis management skills, and an understanding of labor legislation, along with initiative, integrity, and ability to listen attentively to workers' problems and transform them into practical and tangible action plans and solutions." In turn, Salah bin Abdulaziz Al-Abbad, SNC Vice President, affirmed the GFJTU is a "long-established union institution and a center of expertise in union work." He stated this program reflects Jordanian expertise in the fields and skills of union work, praising the Jordanian federation's efforts in preparing and hosting the training activities.
This effort, he said, reflects the "genuine" partnership between the two brotherly countries and Jordan's commitment to sharing expertise with its Arab brethren.
Presented by a number of experts and specialists in union work, the program combines a comprehensive training approach that features practical applications and group exercises, enabling participants to develop applicable tools and skills that suit workers' committee operations.
During the program's opening ceremony, the two sides exchanged commemorative plaques, in recognition of the deep-rooted mutual relations and as an expression of the joint partnership and cooperation.
