Amman, Feb. 10 (Petra) -- Temperatures are expected to trend lower over the coming days before a slight rebound on Friday, as relatively cold conditions take hold across much of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
The department said temperatures will dip slightly on Tuesday, with sunny conditions prevailing and relatively cold weather over highland areas, while remaining warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. High-level cloud cover is expected, accompanied by moderate westerly winds that may become active at times and raise dust.
A further modest decline in temperatures is forecast for Wednesday. Conditions will remain relatively cold, with cloud cover appearing at various altitudes. There is a chance of light, localized rain showers during the afternoon hours in limited parts of northern regions, the department said.
Relatively cold conditions are expected to persist on Thursday, with scattered cloud cover across most areas. The department also warned of possible reduced visibility during the morning hours due to fog formation over the northern highlands.
A slight rise in temperatures is forecast for Friday. Daytime conditions are expected to turn mild, while nights remain cold. Increasing cloud cover is expected, with a chance of light rain showers in northern and central regions. Westerly winds are forecast to be active and dust-raising.
For Tuesday, temperatures in eastern Amman are expected to range between 18 C and 11 C, compared with 16 C to 9 C in western Amman. The northern highlands are forecast to record temperatures between 14 C and 7 C, while the Sharah highlands will see temperatures ranging from 17 C to 9 C. In the Badia, daytime temperatures are expected to reach 23 C before dropping to 8 C at night, while plains areas will record between 19 C and 10 C.
Low-lying regions will remain significantly warmer, with temperatures expected to range between 25 C and 12 C in the northern Jordan Valley and 30 C and 18 C in the south. The Dead Sea area is forecast to record temperatures of 27 C to 16 C, while Aqaba will see highs of 28 C and lows of 17 C.
