Hashemite University takes top spot in GJU 3030 innovation competition

Amman, May 4 (Petra) -- The German Jordanian University (GJU) concluded its "GJU 3030" inter-university competition on Monday, featuring a diverse range of innovative student projects aimed at advancing technology and knowledge-based solutions.

The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Youth, represented by the ministry’s Secretary-General, Mazen Abu Baqar. Students from various Jordanian universities presented projects demonstrating advanced levels of creativity and technical proficiency.

GJU President Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli stated that the competition embodies the university's vision of supporting innovation and empowering youth to build a future rooted in technology. He emphasized the necessity of providing platforms that incubate entrepreneurial ideas to solve contemporary challenges.

Farah Al-Atrash, Dean of Student Affairs at GJU, noted that the GJU 3030 competition has become a significant annual milestone for discovering youth talent and developing skills in creative thinking and teamwork. She affirmed the university's commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

The Hashemite University secured first place in the competition, followed by the Applied Science Private University in second and the German Jordanian University in third.

In the specialized award categories, Princess Sumaya University for Technology won the prize for Best Oral Presentation, while Al-Hussein Technical University received the Problem Solving and Impact award. The University of Jordan was recognized with the award for Creativity, Integration, and Inclusivity.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Abu Baqar honored the winning teams, praising the participants for their awareness of future requirements and their ability to employ technology for social benefit.

The competition was supported by the Housing Bank, which was also honored for its role in sponsoring youth initiatives and enhancing the innovation environment within Jordanian universities.
