House Speaker Affirms Parliament’s Support for King’s Vision to Modernize Armed Forces

Amman, Jan. 24 (Petra) - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Mazen Al-Qadi said that the Lower House stands with pride and confidence behind His Majesty King Abdullah II and his advanced vision for modernizing and restructuring the armed forces, which combines military professionalism, technological modernization, building specialized capabilities, and strengthening the concept of strategic deterrence.

Al-Qadi added that the royal directives issued by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, regarding the preparation of a comprehensive strategy and a roadmap for restructuring the Arab Army and achieving structural transformation within the armed forces, reflect a profound vision that looks to the future and places Jordan’s security and stability at the top of priorities in a world where the nature of threats is changing and the tools of conflict are evolving.

He continued: "In the Lower House, we express our great pride in the Arab Army, its officers, non-commissioned officers, and personnel, affirming that the army has been and will remain the safety valve, the strong shield of the homeland, and the guardian of authentic Jordanian values of discipline, loyalty, and sacrifice." Al-Qadi pointed out that the royal focus on developing national defense industries, building cyber capabilities, and employing artificial intelligence and unmanned systems is an important step in giving the army an advantage in facing modern challenges and transforming technology into a deterrent tool that consolidates Jordan’s position in defense, protects national security, and supports and develops national cadres.

He said that the new strategy for developing the Arab Army means the army will always remain at the forefront of military forces, distinguished by efficiency and the ability to keep pace with modern developments. Alongside this, the army’s "Nashama" will continue to write the finest examples of defending the homeland, protecting its resources, and bravely confronting anything that threatens the Kingdom’s borders and the security of Jordanians.

Al-Qadi concluded by saying, "The Arab Army, with the experience and professionalism it has accumulated, is capable of translating the royal vision into tangible reality, relying on the trust of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and on the love and loyalty of the great Jordanian people, so that the army remains strongly present in deterrence equations and a solid fortress that protects the homeland's soil with courage, sacrifice, and devotion." //Petra// AF
