Amman, Aug. 19 (Petra) -- Expatriate workers’ remittances into the Kingdom rose 13.3 percent in June 2026, compared with June 2025, reaching about $434 million, according to preliminary data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).
Total inbound remittances during the first half of 2026 reached $2.5 billion, up 14.3 percent from the same period last year, the figures showed.
Remittances from the United Arab Emirates accounted for the largest share, at 21.2 percent of the total, followed by the United States, 19.6 percent, Saudi Arabia, 17.7 percent, Qatar, 10.3 percent, and Kuwait, 5.5 percent. Remittances from other countries accounted for about 25.7 percent, it said.
Meanwhile, foreign workers’ remittances sent from Jordan rose 17.7 percent in June, compared with the same month in 2025, reaching about $162.6 million. Total outbound remittances during the first half of the year increased 15.5 percent to $969.3 million compared with the same period last year.
Egypt was the largest recipient of remittances from Jordan, accounting for 41.5 percent of total outbound remittances in the first half of 2026, followed by Bangladesh, at 11 percent, the Philippines, 4.8 percent, and Palestine, 4 percent. Other countries accounted for about 38 percent of the total.
