Amman, March 17 (Petra) – The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply announced the start of implementing an intensive and comprehensive inspection plan across all markets in all governorates to ensure the stability of commercial activity and compliance with regulations and laws, in conjunction with increased consumption ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Assistant Secretary-General and the ministry’s spokesperson Qusai Bani Mustafa told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the ministry has adopted a monitoring program extending until the end of the Eid holiday, explaining that intensifying oversight at this time comes as a precautionary and necessary measure in light of rising demand for goods and services.

Bani Mustafa said the plan places the food sector, restaurants and bakeries at the top of its priorities to ensure the availability of bread and the continued operation of designated bakeries, in addition to verifying the clear display of prices and full compliance with set prices. Inspection tours also include fuel stations and gas agencies, as well as clothing, furnishings and gift shops and sweets and confectionery stores, to check declared prices; the legality of announced offers, discounts and clearances; and their compliance with official instructions.

Bani Mustafa confirmed that the ministry is working in close coordination with producers, importers and relevant entities to ensure the continued flow of goods and the availability of a safe stock that meets citizens’ needs.

He stressed that the ministry will not tolerate any violations or attempts to manipulate prices or disrupt market balances, calling on citizens to play their supervisory role and cooperate with the ministry in monitoring any infringements.

The ministry urged citizens to report complaints through official channels operating under a plan covering both morning and evening periods, including a hotline, WhatsApp application, and digital channels such as the "Bikhidmatkom" platform, the ministry’s official website, and its Facebook page.
