Amman, Mar. 3 (Petra) – Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Intaj)) signed 3 new cooperation agreements with Tafila Technical University, Isra University, and Petra University as part of the Tech Forward project, bringing the total number of participating universities to 13.
According to an Intaj statement issued on Tuesday, the project aims to connect university graduation projects with companies in the Kingdom's ICT sector.
This process would enable students to transform their "innovative solutions into actionable" applications that contribute to developing local companies' products and services and enhancing their regional and global competitiveness.
On its feasibility, the statement said the TechForward project provides a "practical" platform connecting students with companies from the graduation project stage, which ensures that academic ideas are aligned with actual market needs.
Ziad Masri, Executive Director of Intaj Programs and Projects stated expansion in the number of participating universities reflects the "growing confidence" in the initiative and its importance in building a "practical" bridge between education and the job market.
Masri noted the number of graduation projects linked to companies has risen to 23 during the first semester, with expectations to achieve further developments, as the number of projects are projected to reach 35.
Currently, he said "Intaj" is working to redefine the role of the graduation project to be a "genuine" tool for excellence, "not just an academic requirement, by involving companies in identifying technical challenges that need solutions, and guiding students to work them out under the joint supervision of academics and industry experts." The statement affirmed this process would contribute to developing their practical skills and increases their employability immediately after graduation.
