Amman, June 18 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Investment, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, announced on Thursday the issuance of a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for experienced companies and consortia interested in participating in the Jaber Border Crossing Development Project.
The project will be implemented through a public-private partnership (PPP) under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain (DBFMO) model. The ministry said the deadline for submitting applications is 3:30 p.m. on August 3, 2026, Jordan time.
The initiative seeks to rehabilitate, develop, finance, operate and maintain the Jaber Border Crossing, which connects Jordan with Syria, reinforcing its role as a strategic gateway for regional trade and an integrated hub for border and logistics services. It is expected to enhance the efficiency of border operations, facilitate the movement of passengers and freight, and expand the crossing’s capacity to accommodate anticipated growth in regional trade and transport activity.
The project forms part of broader national efforts to strengthen logistics infrastructure, support trade facilitation, and improve connectivity with regional markets, while enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy and reinforcing Jordan’s position as a regional logistics and transport hub.
Interested companies and consortia may obtain the RFQ documents by sending an email titled "JBC Project RFQ Documents" to JBC.PPP@moin.gov.jo, while clearly indicating the identity of the applicant. Applicants are required to attach a copy of the company’s registration certificate, along with proof of payment for the RFQ document fee.
The Ministry of Investment set the cost of the RFQ package at JD1,000, equivalent to approximately $1,410, payable via deposit or bank transfer to the Ministry of Investment’s designated account at the Central Bank of Jordan, MINISTRY OF INVESTMENT / TRUST, account number 01-3100-1208, IBAN: JO76 CBJO 0010 0000 0000 0131 0012 08.
The ministry also noted that a general information session will be held on July 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Jordan time, with the final date and arrangements to be confirmed at a later stage.
