Irbid, March 26 (Petra) --Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), held a specialized training workshop, themed: "Available Solutions for Textile Waste Management and Recycling Options in Line With Best Practices and Global Trends." The event brought together representatives of factories operating in the leather and garment industries and was attended by Mareike Luedtke, Head of Component at GIZ’s Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) project.

Talking at the opening ceremony, ICI President Hani Abu Hassan said the workshop forms part of the chamber’s efforts to support the industrial sector’s shift toward sustainability and the adoption of cleaner production practices.

He called for raising manufacturers’ awareness of industrial waste management mechanisms and turning waste into economic opportunities that help reduce costs and strengthen the competitiveness of Jordanian products in local and global markets.

For his part, ICI Director General Nidal Sadr said the workshop is part of a series of training programs implemented by the chamber in cooperation with its international partners to enable the industrial sector to apply best practices in resource efficiency and waste reduction. He added that the chamber will continue to provide technical and training support to factories in line with their actual needs.

The sessions featured a presentation on the main challenges associated with textile waste management, practical recycling solutions, and successful international models and experiences in the field.
