Irbid, March 1 (Petra) -- The Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) held a specialized training program titled "Maintenance Management and Planning in Factories," in cooperation with the Chamber of Craft in Cologne (HWK Cologne), as part of efforts to upskill the industrial workforce and strengthen sector competitiveness.
ICI President Hani Abu Hassan stressed that advanced, practice-oriented training is critical to upgrading technical and managerial capabilities in factories, noting that stronger maintenance systems and disciplined planning translate directly into lower operating costs, higher production efficiency, and improved competitiveness for Jordanian products in both domestic and export markets.
He added that cooperation with HWK Cologne reflects ICI’s push to expand international partnerships and transfer global expertise to Irbid’s industrial base, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision’s targets to support industry and enable sustainable growth.
The program is designed to familiarize participants with modern industrial maintenance frameworks and tools, including effective maintenance planning, cost estimation, and implementation approaches that support durable, repeatable results inside manufacturing facilities. The course runs over several days during Ramadan.
ICI said the training is part of its core mandate to serve the industrial sector by building institutional capacity, improving human capital, and equipping companies with practical instruments to strengthen performance and long-term sustainability, supporting broader national economic development.
