Irbid, March 1 (Petra) – The Irbid Second Directorate of Awqaf on Sunday organized the second Hashemite Scientific Council under the title "The Prophetic Sunnah as the Second Source: Clarification and Elucidation," held in the courtyard of Al-Fayhaa Mosque.

The council was attended by Assistant Governor of Irbid Nael Ibdah and Director of Irbid Second Directorate of Awqaf Firas Abu Khait, underscoring official institutional support for such gatherings, which reflect the moderate scientific approach underpinning the mission of the Ministry of Awqaf.

The session, moderated by Head of Resources Department Mohammad Al-Rjoub, addressed the authoritative status of the Sunnah and its role in explaining the rulings of the Holy Quran, as well as the responsibility of scholars and religious institutions in clarifying it to the public in a manner that observes the objectives of Sharia, combines textual evidence with sound understanding, preserves religious constants and keeps pace with contemporary developments.

Abdul Raouf Bani Issa, a Ministry of Awqaf official, said the Prophetic Sunnah represents the "system of religion" and its stronghold, calling for greater scientific and methodological attention to it and for strengthening its presence in public life.
