Occupied Jerusalem, Sept. 17 (Petra) – Four Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition and another suffered from tear gas inhalation during Israeli occupation forces’ raids in Qalqilya town on Thursday.
This aggression came amid widespread incursions and arrests across the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.
In its statement, Palestine Red Crescent Society said Israeli forces raided several Palestinian cities, towns, refugee camps, and villages, searched homes, and converted some into military posts. The raids also involved arrests, field interrogations, and assaults on Palestinians.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society, in another statement, said Israeli forces arrested 25 Palestinians across the West Bank, most of them in Qalqilya, on allegations that they were wanted.
Separately, Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished 5 residential structures and a sheep pen in the Wa'r al-Beik area of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. The structures belonged to five brothers and were demolished weeks after Israeli authorities issued demolition notices on the grounds that they had been built without permits.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem Governorate said Israeli forces assaulted residents during the demolitions and prevented families from removing their belongings beforehand.
It added that bulldozers destroyed electrical appliances, furniture, clothing, and personal belongings inside the structures, causing the families to lose a substantial portion of their property.
Around 30 people had been living in the demolished structures and were left without their homes, while the operation also destroyed the sheep pen.
