Amman, June 27 (Petra) – Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Chairman Ayman Alawneh and Mexican Ambassador Jacob Prado González discussed prospects of expanding economic, trade, and investment relations.

Alawneh stressed enhanced economic relations between Jordan and Mexico, and a need to translate the close ties into effective economic and investment partnerships and launch joint ventures by the private sector in both countries.

He pointed to Jordan's investor-friendly environment and competitive advantages as a gateway to regional markets.

The JBA head also noted an interest to enhance communication with the Mexican business community and explore available opportunities in various sectors.

The Mexican envoy said his country is committed to forging closer economic relations with Jordan and cementing cooperation between private sector institutions, calling for exploring new areas of partnership in sectors of mutual interest.

The volume of trade between Jordan and Mexico stood at about $97 million in 2024, compared to $130 million in 2023, with untapped Jordanian export opportunities in the Mexican market, including fertilizers, chemical products, jewelry, and non-ferrous and non-precious metal products.
