Amman, May 3 (Petra) -- The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) seized "large" quantities of smuggled goods, including 4,000 liters of alcoholic beverages hidden inside a specially prepared water tanker.
In a statement Sunday, the confiscated substances were also about 60,000 liters of diesel, 4,000 cartons of cigarettes, 21 tons of shredded tobacco, 31,000 counterfeit clothing items, and other smuggled goods.
In a related operation, the Airport Clearance Customs Center seized 16 kilograms of marijuana and 250 liters of liquid narcotic substances, in coordination with the relevant security and regulatory authorities.
The department said it will continue stepping up efforts to protect the national economy and combat all forms of smuggling, urging citizens to report information through the toll-free number 105.
