JEDCO, Export Bahrain Hold Seminar to Strengthen Economic Ties

Amman, July 7 (Petra) -- The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in partnership with Export Bahrain, organized a virtual seminar to promote economic cooperation between Jordan and Bahrain and create new opportunities for trade, investment and private sector collaboration.

The seminar, titled "Enhancing Economic Relations Between Jordan and the Kingdom of Bahrain," brought together representatives from Bahraini government entities and business support organizations, as well as 70 Jordanian companies, as part of joint efforts to deepen bilateral economic ties.

JEDCO Chief Executive Officer Ghaleb Hijazi said the seminar forms part of the joint action plan established under the memorandum of understanding signed between JEDCO and Export Bahrain to strengthen economic cooperation, exchange expertise and provide companies with practical platforms to explore new partnerships and regional market opportunities.

He said JEDCO is committed to building partnerships with business support institutions in sister and friendly countries as part of its efforts to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their competitiveness.

Hijazi added that facilitating direct engagement between businesses and relevant institutions contributes to creating a more supportive business environment, expanding trade and investment flows and strengthening commercial cooperation.

He said the close relations between Jordan and Bahrain provide a strong foundation for broader economic collaboration and expressed JEDCO's commitment to launching additional joint initiatives that benefit companies in both countries.

Export Bahrain Chief Executive Officer Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq said the virtual seminar reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to strengthening economic relations and enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of Jordan and Bahrain.

She said Export Bahrain continues to establish strategic partnerships with regional and international counterparts to help Bahraini businesses expand into international markets, improve their competitiveness and identify new export opportunities.

Abdulkhaliq said the seminar introduced Jordanian companies to Bahrain's competitive advantages, including its business-friendly environment, advanced infrastructure and strategic location, while outlining market entry requirements and opportunities for building long-term commercial partnerships.

Representatives of Export Bahrain, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Bahrain's Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Customs Affairs delivered presentations highlighting the Kingdom's economic landscape, investment incentives, exporter support services and market access procedures, in addition to opportunities available to Jordanian companies seeking to expand their presence in Bahrain.

The seminar also enabled Jordanian companies to engage directly with speakers and discuss investment and export opportunities that could lead to new business partnerships.

The two sides concluded the event by reaffirming their commitment to implementing the joint action plan and organizing further initiatives aimed at strengthening Jordanian-Bahraini economic relations, supporting business growth and expanding bilateral trade and investment.
