Jerash officials highlight national unity during Easter visit

Jerash, April 13 (Petra) -- Governor of Jerash, Malik Khreisat, praised Jordan’s long-standing model of religious co-existence on Monday, describing Easter as a celebration that embodies the values of tolerance and brotherhood within the kingdom.
During a visit to the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerash to offer holiday greetings, Khreisat noted that Jordan, under Hashemite leadership, remains a definitive example of national unity. He was accompanied by members of the governorate security council and the head of the Greater Jerash Municipal Committee, Mohammad Bani Yassin.
Khreisat stated that the Jordanian national fabric is built upon a foundation of mutual respect and solidarity, expressing pride in the deep-rooted social harmony that connects all segments of the population.
The parish priest of the Greek Orthodox Church, Jeryes Smeirat, welcomed the delegation, stating that the visit reflects the strength of the fraternal ties between Jordanians. He added that such initiatives serve to reinforce the spirit of affection and solidify the country’s social cohesion.
