Jerash Steps Up Preparations for National Team Match Screening Event

Jerash, June 22 (Petra) -- Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan has called for stronger promotion of the upcoming national football team match screening event, stressing the importance of digital media and social networking platforms in raising public engagement.

He noted that the main organizing committee in Amman is providing full logistical support to ensure the success of the event.

During a coordination meeting held Monday in Jerash, attended by the governor and senior officials, the minister highlighted the importance of closely following up on preparations for receiving fans and organizing the public viewing activities.

Officials confirmed that all security, organizational, and logistical arrangements in the governorate have been completed, ensuring a well-prepared environment for spectators and reflecting a positive image of Jerash amid strong public interest.

Governor Malek Khreisat said that local institutions, including the municipality and executive council, have enhanced their readiness to mobilize community participation and encourage public involvement. He also pointed to an integrated media plan aimed at promoting the event and its preparations.

He added that a dedicated organizing committee has been formed, with district commissioners assigned to oversee seating areas and public squares to ensure smooth coordination and on-the-ground supervision.

Jerash Municipality President Mohammad Bani Yaseen said efforts have been made to engage community leaders and local institutions to encourage participation, in coordination with youth centers and civil society organizations.

He noted that approximately 5,100 participants have been mobilized through municipal efforts, with expected attendance of 2,000 to 2,500 people at Al-Hassan Sports City, along with family participation at Al-Bayda Square, delegations from Irbid municipalities totaling around 500 participants, and 11 buses arriving from Ajloun.

He also highlighted that the media campaign has significantly boosted public awareness and interaction across the governorate.

Jerash Police Director Brig. Gen. Raafat Al-Maaytah confirmed full readiness of the security plan, including deployment of patrols and specialized units at main entrances and public gathering points to ensure safety and smooth crowd movement.

Jerash Youth Director Abdelilah Al-Mashaqba said youth centers and sports clubs have finalized preparations, with transportation arranged through 11 buses from clubs and 9 buses from the ministry.

Head of the Jerash Charity Associations Union, Zaid Zboun, said the union has completed its preparations and will distribute 200 cartons of water to attendees to support the event.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Minister of Youth, accompanied by the governor and officials, inspected the Jerash archaeological site to review final preparations and check the readiness of screens designated for live match broadcasting.
