Amman, Jan. 8 (Petra)-- The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) clarified that Jordan is not among the countries affected by the production batches disclosed for all Nestlé infant formula products that were reported to have a potential risk of contamination with the Cereulide toxin, produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus, which may cause nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the JFDA confirmed that after taking all necessary precautionary measures, all Nestlé infant formula products available on the Jordanian market are free from any contamination and are safe for consumption.
The administration explained that the manufacturer had issued a global notice identifying the countries affected by the issue, and Jordan is not among them. It also noted that these products are not present in the local market, as confirmed on the company’s official website.
The JFDA urged citizens not to use any products that are not registered with the administration, and to contact the JFDA in case of any remarks, inquiries, or complaints via the free complaints hotline (117114), email (info@jfda.jo), or WhatsApp at (0795632000).
