Amman, December 24 (Petra) – The Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) affirmed its commitment to establishing a professional and institutional partnership with the Karbala Nursing Syndicate in Iraq.

During the second visit of the syndicate's head, Dr. Muhammad Tufan Khalidi, to the council's headquarters, JNC's Secretary-General Dr. Hani Nawafleh said the meeting represents a significant step to achieve "organized institutional" collaboration.

Nawafleh indicated that the council proposes drafting a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and an executive action plan with a "clear" timeline to ensure practical results that benefit the two countries' nursing staff.

According to a JNC statement on Wednesday, he noted nursing is a key pillar of quality healthcare systems, emphasizing the council's keenness to expand its Arab partnerships and exchange "successful" experiences in developing the profession.

Nawafleh stated the proposed areas of cooperation aim to develop and build nursing capacities, transfer knowledge and expertise, support training and qualification programs, promote a culture of clinical simulation, and exchange experiences in developing legislation governing the nursing profession.

Nawafleh added that this vision aims to contribute to regulating and governing professional practice on scientific principles and approved standards, calling for exchanging Arab expertise in this field to achieve "more efficient and sustainable" regulatory models.

For his part, Khalidi expressed his appreciation for Jordan's "pioneering" experience in regulating the nursing profession and developing its legislation and professional programs.

Khalidi also affirmed his interest in making progress in outlining a joint MoU, including an executive action plan with a clear timeline, which would implement cooperation vision to bring about tangible outcomes that serve the two countries' nursing staff.
