Amman, June 17 (Petra) --Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reiterated their "strategic" partnership to advance healthcare services by expanding training and professional development programs for health workers across UNRWA's five fields of operation.
According to a JNC statement issued Wednesday, the cooperation builds on a "longstanding" partnership aimed at strengthening human resources in healthcare, a key pillar in improving service quality and enhancing patient care.
The two sides agreed to launch two specialized professional diploma programs and an advanced training course as part of a comprehensive capacity-building plan targeting healthcare personnel working in UNRWA facilities.
The initiative seeks to enhance scientific knowledge, develop practical skills and strengthen professional readiness among health workers.
Speaking at the meeting with UNRWA officials, JNC Secretary-General Hani Nawafleh said the partnership represents an "advanced model" of institutional cooperation focused on building the capacities of healthcare professionals.
He added that investment in education, training and continuous professional development remains essential to strengthening health systems, improving the quality of care and promoting patient safety.
As for its policy, Nawafleh said the council continues to expand its national, regional and international partnerships as part of its role as Jordan's reference institution for regulating and advancing the nursing profession.
He noted Jordanian nursing expertise has gained growing recognition and credibility at both regional and international levels.
The next phase of cooperation will see the rollout of joint ad hoc training programs, aimed at enhancing workforce competencies and raising quality of healthcare services.
The initiative reflects UNRWA's policy for strengthening the capacity of health personnel as a strategic priority in delivering more efficient and sustainable healthcare services.
