Amman, June 10 (Petra) -- The sixth Jordan Packaging Exhibition (JOPEX 2026) will open Monday at the Jordan International Exhibition Center in Mecca Mall, bringing together 22 leading local companies specializing in packaging technologies and production solutions.
Organized by the East Amman Industrial Investors Association, the four-day exhibition aims to highlight the packaging sector's role as a key link between producers and consumers and a critical component in enhancing product competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
Association President Iyad Abu Haltam said in a statement Wednesday that the exhibition seeks to strengthen economic integration and industrial connectivity by showcasing production inputs and smart packaging solutions that support a wide range of sectors, particularly the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and agricultural industries.
He said the event will provide a platform for networking, knowledge exchange and the establishment of strategic partnerships, offering industrialists, traders and investors opportunities to explore cooperation prospects and conclude direct supply agreements.
Abu Haltam noted that the exhibition continues to gain commercial and economic significance each year, attracting a broad range of local and international stakeholders, business leaders and industry professionals. He added that the event will feature specialized seminars and technical conferences highlighting the latest developments, innovations and design trends in the packaging industry.
He said the packaging sector has established itself as a strategic component of the industrial value chain at both the national and regional levels, supporting product distribution and facilitating access to export markets through advanced packaging solutions.
According to Abu Haltam, JOPEX 2026 will offer industrial companies and owners of agricultural, commercial and service enterprises an opportunity to explore innovative packaging products and solutions, as well as production inputs required across multiple industries.
Association statistics show that the packaging, printing and plastics sectors in the East Amman Industrial Zone include approximately 260 establishments employing around 5,000 workers. Their exports reached about JD40 million in 2025.
The data also indicate that the East Amman Industrial Zone, encompassing the Marka, Uhud, Tariq, Abu Alanda, al-Hizam al-Daayiri, Nasr and Basman areas, is home to about 1,900 industrial establishments across various sectors, employing nearly 35,000 workers, the majority of whom are Jordanians.
Jordan's exports of packaging products totaled JD35 million during the first quarter of 2026, according to the association.
The exhibition will be held concurrently with the Machinery, Electricity, Energy Trade (JIMEX) and the Solar Near East (SONEX) exhibitions, and will be open daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Thursday.
