Amman, Feb. 25 (Petra) -- Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa and Australian Ambassador to Jordan Paula Ganly discussed Wednesday ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in shared social and development fields.

Bani Mustafa outlined the ministry’s social programs targeting vulnerable groups, including protection, care and development services aimed at strengthening an integrated social services system.

She reviewed efforts to advance women’s economic empowerment and support the most vulnerable families, including beneficiaries of social assistance, to enhance self-reliance and transition them into productive employment, contributing to sustainable development and capacity building.

The minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to upgrade social services and expand alternative care programs for persons with disabilities. These include early intervention services, inclusive day-care programs and family-based integration, in addition to initiatives to replace institutional care with alternative family care.

She underscored progress in promoting women’s political participation and advancing priorities outlined in the Economic Modernization Vision’s women empowerment strategy, and called for leveraging shared experiences and exchanging expertise to further improve service delivery.

For her part, Ganly stressed the importance of continued coordination in social sectors and expressed her country’s interest in expanding cooperation in the future.
