Amman, Jan. 11 (Petra) -- Minister of Youth, Vice President of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers for Youth and Sports, and Chairperson of the Council’s Technical Youth Committee, Raed Adwan, on Sunday chaired a session of the Technical Youth Committee during the 49th session of the Council at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
Adwan highlighted the collective vision of Arab governments to empower youth, enhance their participation in public and social life, and implement effective policies and high-quality programs that transform aspirations into concrete achievements.
He underscored the committee’s role in promoting joint Arab youth initiatives, facilitating knowledge exchange, and supporting the development of programs that address the needs and priorities of young people across the region.
Adwan emphasized Jordan’s regional and international leadership in implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, which was adopted following the efforts of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II during Jordan’s presidency of the Security Council in 2015. Jordan also hosted the launch of the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace and Security, along with its implementation plan, and adopted a national strategy to operationalize the resolution’s principles.
He commended Arab ministries of youth and sports for preparing national plans to translate the Arab Strategy into actionable programs and confirmed that all recommendations from member states regarding youth initiatives for 2026 have been submitted to the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports.
