Amman, Feb. 13 (Petra)-- Jordan Chamber of Commerce President Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq met with Fadi Qutishat, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j), to discuss strengthening cooperation and expanding partnership opportunities in support of Jordan’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

The meeting was attended by Haitham Rawajbeh, the ICT sector representative at the Chamber, and Eng. Nidal Bitar, CEO of Int@j.

Al-Haj Tawfiq underscored the importance of integration between the commercial sector and the ICT industry, describing it as one of the key drivers of the national economy. He stressed the need to expand the presence of Jordanian ICT companies in regional markets through practical initiatives and specialized business platforms that enhance service and technology exports.

According to a Chamber statement issued Friday, both sides are moving forward with plans to organize specialized ICT business forums in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Republic of Iraq.

Al-Haj Tawfiq noted that these forums will help open new markets for Jordanian companies, strengthen economic partnerships, and build sustainable institutional relationships that serve the interests of the Jordanian private sector.

He revealed that preparations are underway for a Jordanian-Saudi ICT Forum to be held in Saudi Arabia. The forum aims to strengthen partnerships between Jordanian and Saudi companies and explore cooperation opportunities in digital transformation, technology services, and innovation.

Additionally, the Chamber is preparing to organize a Jordanian-Syrian ICT Forum in Damascus, focusing on rebuilding technical cooperation bridges and connecting Jordanian firms with Syrian institutions and companies. The forum will explore joint investment opportunities in software development, digital transformation, and advanced technology services, within the broader framework of supporting Arab economic integration and transferring Jordanian ICT expertise.

Al-Haj Tawfiq also highlighted arrangements to hold a Jordanian-Iraqi ICT Forum in Iraq, aimed at enabling Jordanian companies to enter the Iraqi market and establish technology partnerships that serve various economic sectors, particularly in digital services, cybersecurity, and business solutions.

For his part, Qutishat emphasized that Int@j places great importance on cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, given its role as a national umbrella for the commercial and services sectors. He described the partnership as a key pillar in supporting the growth and regional competitiveness of Jordan’s ICT industry.

He added that collaboration with the Chamber reflects a practical approach to empowering Jordanian ICT companies to expand regionally through specialized business platforms that open doors to partnership and investment opportunities in promising Arab markets.

Qutishat stressed that the upcoming forums in Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iraq represent an important step toward boosting Jordan’s technology exports and enhancing the presence of national digital solutions in regional digital transformation projects.

He affirmed that Int@j remains committed to supporting the expansion of Jordanian companies and exporting their expertise to regional markets, contributing to the growth of the Arab digital economy.
