Amman, July 22 (Petra) -- Jordan has achieved a qualitative leap in its digital transformation journey and the modernization of public services over the past four years, aligning with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision, according to Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat.
Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Smeirat stated that the Kingdom shifted from isolated digitalization efforts to building an integrated, citizen-centric digital government ecosystem built on efficiency, speed, and accessibility.
The minister revealed that the ministry has raised the proportion of digitized government services to 85.5 percent of targeted procedures, with active operations underway to reach 100 percent digitalization of eligible public services by the end of this year. These efforts run parallel with re-engineering and streamlining administrative processes to improve service delivery for citizens and investors.
The Kingdom’s adoption of digital solutions expanded significantly, with active users on the national digital identity application "Sanad" surpassing 2.88 million. The adoption of digital signatures and electronic public services also experienced steady growth, reflecting rising public confidence in digital channels as the primary method for completing official transactions securely.
Smeirat highlighted the role of Comprehensive Government Service Centers as a key component of this national shift, combining physical and digital channels under a single roof. The network has grown to 15 centers across various governorates, providing 229 services in collaboration with 34 public institutions. Together, they serve over 120,000 citizens monthly, processing roughly 200,000 transactions with a 98 percent satisfaction rating.
Looking ahead, Smeirat noted that future phases will focus on expanding artificial intelligence integration, data management, and advanced automation to deliver proactive, efficient public services in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.
