Cairo, Sept. 13 (Petra) - Labor Minister Nidal Qatamin met with his Egyptian counterpart Hassan Raddad on Sunday to discuss issues surrounding Egyptian workers in Jordan, on the sidelines of the 52nd Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.
Qatamin said historical ties between Jordan and Egypt provide a strong foundation for protecting shared interests, adding that the ministry remains committed to open dialogue to resolve issues facing Egyptian workers within Jordanian law.
The minister pointed to a recent Cabinet measure designed to cut red tape for employers and help foreign workers, especially Egyptians, regularize their legal status.
Raddad, for his part, commended the continuous coordination between Amman and Cairo, and stressed the importance of deepening cooperation across various fields.
He praised the Cabinet's decision, noting that compliant Egyptian workers will directly benefit from the remaining grace period to rectify their legal status.
