Amman, Mar. 22 (Petra)-- The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Sunday strongly condemned the continued attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians, most recently targeting several villages and towns in the northern occupied West Bank.

The ministry held Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for these assaults.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fu'ad Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s firm rejection of the attacks and the escalating violence carried out by settlers against the Palestinian people.

He warned that ongoing violations in the occupied West Bank, coupled with increasing restrictions on Palestinians, risk further escalation and could lead to a wider deterioration of the situation, threatening regional security and stability.

Al-Majali called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, urging it to compel Israel to halt its dangerous escalation and settler violence.

He also stressed the need to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
