Amman, November 5 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, received Hungarian Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. Gen. Gábor Böröndi, and his accompanying delegation.

In a meeting held at the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral military cooperation, particularly in the areas of joint training, exchange of expertise, and development of training programs.

The cooperation aims to raise the level of operational preparedness and support the defense capabilities of the two countries' armed forces, according to a JAF statement.

Regional and international developments were also discussed, aimed to strengthening regional security and stability.

During the meeting, Huneiti and Böröndi listened to military briefings on the JAF's modernization processes, its "advanced" operational and technological capabilities, and the humanitarian efforts carried out by the Kingdom in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as part of Jordan's ongoing role in providing support and assistance to its Palestinian brethern.

Huneiti affirmed the "strength" of Jordanian-Hungarian defense relations, expressing the JAF's commitment to expanding military and technical cooperation and exchanging expertise to serve mutual interests and strengthen the international military cooperation framework.

For his part, Böröndi expressed his appreciation for the JAF's professionalism and its personnel competence, praising the Kingdom's "leading" role, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, in consolidating regional security and supporting humanitarian response in the region.

Concluding the visit, which was attended by the Hungarian Ambassador to Amman and a number of senior JAF officers, Böröndi signed the visitors' book.
