Jordan Investment Engine Reports 3,801 Incentive Transactions, 1,879 Investor Cards

Amman, Aug. 10 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Investment processed 3,801 incentive and facilitation transactions and issued 1,879 investor cards during the first half of 2026 as Jordan advanced reforms under the Investment Engine of the Economic Modernization Vision's second Executive Program for 2026-2029.

According to the Executive Program, 379 companies also benefited from investment exemptions during the first six months of the year, as the government pursued measures to improve the investment environment, streamline procedures and attract domestic and foreign investment.

The first half of 2026 saw the issuance of amended regulations governing the investment environment, aimed at enhancing competitiveness, simplifying regulatory procedures, improving investor services, stimulating investment and creating jobs.

Investor aftercare services, including the handling of complaints and grievances, were also activated through an integrated management framework based on standardized procedures and enhanced governance.

The Ministry of Investment also developed an investment map featuring 100 opportunities across various sectors and completed a comprehensive upgrade of the Invest in Jordan platform, establishing it as a unified national platform for promoting investment and providing investors with information and investment opportunities.

The ministry completed a draft of instructions for issuing licenses subject to compliance requirements, in preparation for approval and publication in the Official Gazette. It also awarded a tender to prepare a technical and legal study for an investment funds project in line with internationally recognized best practices.

As part of efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships, the ministry issued a prequalification invitation for the development of Jaber Border Crossing under a design, build, finance, operate and maintain model. The project aims to rehabilitate and upgrade the crossing and improve its operational efficiency.

Investment packages were also developed for several bankable investment and public-private partnership projects, including the Amman Bridge toll-road project, a water-loss reduction project and a pharmaceutical traceability project.

For the southern Amman water-loss reduction project, the evaluation of companies' prequalification applications was completed. Work also began on a feasibility study for a pumped-storage hydropower project in Wadi Mujib, which would establish a 450-megawatt closed-loop facility to enhance the flexibility and sustainability of the electricity system.

To improve Jordan's competitiveness under the Business Ready Index, a national action plan was adopted to enhance the Kingdom's performance on the index. A tender was also awarded and implementation began on an economic and investment feasibility study for establishing a green industrial development zone as part of efforts to promote sustainable industries.

An agreement was also signed for the first phase of the free school transportation project in the Southern Badia.

At the Arab level, Jordan's Ministry of Investment signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia's Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority to cooperate in developing economic zones and the investment map's 100 opportunities, with a focus on infrastructure, logistics, transportation and technology.

The measures form part of the Investment Engine's broader efforts to create a competitive investment environment, improve investor services, develop investment opportunities and strengthen Jordan's position as an attractive regional and international investment destination.
