Amman, July 9 (Petra) -- Jordan has invited British companies to participate in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom next November, as part of efforts to strengthen investment partnerships and attract new business opportunities.

Industry, Trade and Supply Minister Yarub Qudah extended the invitation during meetings in London with London Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Karim Fatehi and officials from the British Expertise International network, according to a ministry statement issued Thursday.

Qudah said the conference will serve as a key platform to showcase Jordan's investment opportunities and foster strategic partnerships between Jordanian and European businesses.

He said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, continues to implement its Economic Modernization Vision by improving the investment climate, updating legislation, and simplifying procedures to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy and create an attractive business environment.

The minister highlighted investment opportunities across key sectors, including industry, energy, mining, pharmaceuticals, food industries, information technology, and logistics. He said Jordan's political and economic stability, strategic location, skilled workforce, and extensive network of free trade agreements provide investors with access to regional and global markets.

Qudah encouraged British companies to leverage these advantages by establishing Jordan as a regional production and export hub, citing the Kingdom's free trade agreements with the United States and Canada. He said the government remains committed to strengthening public-private partnerships in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.

He described the Jordanian-European Investment Conference as an opportunity for investors to explore priority projects, learn about investment incentives, and establish direct partnerships with Jordanian and European companies. He also invited British firms to participate in the Jordanian-British Business Forum, scheduled to take place in London later this month.

The minister stressed the importance of expanding engagement between the business communities of both countries through reciprocal trade and investment missions to boost bilateral trade and attract new investments.

For his part, Fatehi reaffirmed the chamber's commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Jordan and expanding business links between the two countries.

He said the British market offers strong potential for Jordanian products, particularly agricultural exports, and encouraged British companies to explore investment opportunities in Jordan and participate in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference.

The British Expertise International network represents companies specializing in infrastructure, consulting, engineering, capacity building, and international development, supporting British firms in expanding into international markets and building global partnerships.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to leverage British expertise in priority sectors targeted under Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision to strengthen investment cooperation between Jordan and the United Kingdom.
