Amman, Aug. 3 (Petra) -- The Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation (JLGC) recorded strong financial and operational performance during the first half of 2026, issuing guarantees worth JD300 million, compared with JD204 million during the same period last year.
JLGC Chairman Adel Sharkas said the results reflect the company's continued growth and its expanding role in supporting the national economy by facilitating access to finance for businesses.
He said the performance demonstrates the success of JLGC's strategy to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startup businesses and entrepreneurship, while enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian exports in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.
The company's total revenues rose to JD34.2 million during the first half of 2026, compared with JD25.2 million in the corresponding period of 2025, Sharkas added.
He noted that JLGC launched two new initiatives during the reporting period: the Employment Guarantee Program, financed by the Government of Germany through the German Development Bank (KfW), and the Green Finance Guarantee Program, as part of efforts to expand its services, support sustainable financing and promote job creation.
JLGC General Manager Adnan Naji said the company issued guarantees for 843 loans valued at JD149 million, including guarantees for 103 startup projects worth JD9 million.
He added that 214 enterprises benefited from the microenterprise guarantee program, receiving financing totaling JD2 million by the end of June.
In export credit and domestic sales insurance, JLGC provided guarantees covering approximately 2,560 export shipments and domestic sales worth JD151 million.
Naji said the number of active insurance policies increased to 131, covering export and domestic sales transactions in 42 countries.
The company said it will continue developing its guarantee programs and expanding partnerships with financial institutions and development organizations to improve access to finance across various economic sectors, stimulate investment, support innovation and entrepreneurship, and strengthen its role in advancing sustainable economic development in Jordan.
