Jordan participates in int'l health program in China

Amman, July 12 (Petra) –Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) coordinated the Kingdom's participation in the international program: "Public Health for Developing Countries," organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce.

The event is held in cooperation with the Beijing Health Promotion Association (BJHPA), from July 9 to 22, 2026, with the engagement of officials and experts from several developing countries.

The program aims to enhance expertise exchange in the fields of public health, health system development, capacity building, and expand the horizons of international cooperation in the health sector.

According to a JNC statement issued on Sunday, its Secretary-General Dr. Hani Nawafleh said this participation reflects the council's approach to strengthening the Jordanian presence in specialized global programs and forums, and building cooperation bridges with leading global institutions.

On its goals, he noted this Jordanian presence contributes to transferring knowledge and expertise exchange and supports efforts to develop the Kingdom's health sector and improve efficiency of human health resources.

He stated the council is "keen" to leverage its international relations and partnerships to open fresh horizons for Jordanian talent and provide opportunities to learn from successful global experiences." This vision, he said, will "positively" impact the development of health policies, enhance the quality of services, and solidify a culture of innovation and continuous professional development.

He added that the program serves as an international platform for dialogue and expertise exchange among participants and experts.

Activities also address several priority areas for developing health systems, mainly public health strategies, health policy development, disease prevention, response to major health events, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, smart health, and traditional Chinese medicine, he pointed out.

Additionally, he said the program features field visits to health and educational institutions in Beijing and Hangzhou to learn from the Chinese experience in developing health services and the application of technology and innovation in healthcare.

Nawafleh noted the council views this participation as an opportunity to strengthen Jordanian-Chinese cooperationin the areas of public health, medical human resource development, education and training, scientific research, and to benefit from leading international experiences.

He noted this process would support development of the national health system and keep pace with global changes in the health sector.
