Jordan, Qatar Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Amman, June 3 (Petra) -- The Lower House’s Jordanian-Qatari Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee, chaired by MP Abdul Raouf Rbeihat, on Wednesday discussed ways to strengthen relations with Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani.

Talking at the meeting, Rbeihat said Jordanian-Qatari relations are built on a "long history" of coordination, citing continued progress in political, economic, and investment fields, supported by both countries' leaderships.

He said parliamentary diplomacy plays an "important" role in strengthening relations through visits, expertise exchange, and coordination between Jordan’s Lower House and Qatar’s Shura Council.

In turn, the Qatari ambassador said the two countries share "strong strategic" ties based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation, stressing bilateral commitment to expanding partnership in various fields.

The diplomat added that relations with Jordan are witnessing "continuous" development at the political, economic, investment, and cultural levels, referring to continued consultation reflects the "depth of the historic and brotherly" ties.
